Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in Olney, Maryland!
Q: Did you have any pets growing up?
A: Ooh yes! I had a golden retriever named Ginger. But now I have another golden retriever named Lucy (I love her so so much!)
Q: Do you have any siblings?
A:Yes! I am the youngest 6. I have 3 older brothers and 2 older sisters. So that makes me the baby of the family.
Q: Which university or college did you attend?
A: I went to Towson University! I studied Family & Human Services.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: I like to hang out with my family. I have a lot of nieces and nephews so its so fun to hang with them and see them grow up. I also like hanging out with my friends. Whether that is going to dinner, hanging out at their house or shopping. I also love doing work out classes such as Soul Cycle.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to?
A: Oooh that's a good one. I of course love Harry Styles and Taylor Swift. But I truly listen to any genre of music.
Q: How do you like your job at OES?
A: I LOVE my job here at OES. Seeing the students everyday genuinely makes me so happy and smiley.
Q: Why did you choose to work at OES?
A: I knew I wanted to work with kids so I was talking to my cousin at a family event and we got on the topic of Paraeducators. So that night I went home and started looking at different job opportunities and saw that OES had a spot open. So I applied and here I am today! Plus my siblings went here when they were little so I knew it was an amazing school!

Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in Silver Spring, MD.
Q: Did you have any pets growing up?
A: Yes, I had a pit bull growing up and now I have a turtle.
Q: Do you have any siblings?
A: Yes, I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I'm the second youngest in my family.
Q: Why did you choose to work at OES?
A: I like helping kids and seeing them grow over time. I’m also using it as a foundation to get into social working with the school system.
Q: What university or college did you go to?
A: I went Monmouth University and Lake Erie College.
Q: What sports do you play or teach?
A: Growing up I played basketball, soccer, track and field. I also played football for 19 years. I coach kids flag football K-10th grade. I coach varsity football at Sherwood HS. I also coach running backs from various high schools throughout Montgomery County.
Q: What kind of music are you into to?
A: I’m into R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae, and Soul.
Q: What has been the best thing that has happened to you so far at OES?
A: Everything, it is a great school!
Q: How do you like your job at this school so far?
A: I enjoy it everyday. There are lots of funny kids who brighten up my day.
Q: Why did you choose OES from any other school there is?
A: It is close to Sherwood HS, where I coach football everyday after school.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: I play video games, watch football and workout.

Q and A with Ms. Yates by Kara Miehle
Where did you grow up:
I grew up in Olney and I went to both Belmont and Cashell Elementary School!
Did you have any pets growing up and do you have any now?
I have two dogs, Bailey and Mia. We got Mia when I was in 5th grade and Bailey when I was in College. I love to take them on long walks after school.
Do you have any siblings?
I have a younger brother and an older sister. My brother Jimmy is currently in Spain, studying abroad. My sister is in medical school becoming a doctor.
What college did you go to?
Towson University.
What do you do when you have free time?
I love to hang out with my best friends including Ms. Gormley! I also enjoy running, biking, and journaling.
How many years have you been teaching?
When I was in College at Towson, I was an intern in a second grade class in Baltimore County. Last year was my first year teaching on my own, and I taught fifth grade English. I teach Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health this year.
What subject do you like to teach?
There is so much about each subject that I love so much. I love teaching and I keep on learning. I can’t choose a favorite subject to teach, but I am really enjoying the challenging problems in 5th grade Math!
