Caitlin Clark      by Charlie Sullivan      posted 3/12/2024

Caitlin Clark is a women’s basketball prodigy, and has quickly become a top college basketball player. She just declared for the 2024 WNBA draft and was recently in the WNBA all star game. Clark is widely thought of as the best basketball player in the world, and some say EVER.

Number 22 (Caitlin Clark’s jersey number) is playing for the Cyclones in Iowa. She recently set fire in a game against the Maryland Terrapins, as her stats included 38 points and 12 assists. These stats are incredible even for a professional basketball player, which is one of many of the reasons she is a great basketball player.

Clark is well-known for her sharp shooting and ability to meet the bottom of the net every time the ball leaves her hands. There are many clips of Caitlin sinking dangerously deep shots, from within and without the 3-point-shot arc.

The WNBA even recognized her, for her amazing ball handling and shooting skills, by letting her be a part of the WNBA All Star basketball game. During this event she broke history and set a new record. Caitlin Clark shot and made 4 consecutive 4-point shots, in 4 game stopping possessions. She left with a show stopping 49 points and scored the most points ever in an WNBA All Star game.

     Last Year's Bracket

Profile on Erling Haaland      by Ari Klayman          posted 11/17

Haaland, a 23 year old Norwegian professional soccer player. Haaland is one of a few people to play for a country he wasn't born in, he was born in Leeds England. Haaland went to the academy of Bryne in Norway, he then went to play for Molde in Norway. Then he      went to Salzburg in germany. (fun fact This was right before his career skyrocketed)

He stayed in Germany and went to Dortmund. For Dortmund he had 80 G/A (Goals and assists). He Still hasn't won a trophy until the 180 million pound move to Manchester, England (that's 220,635,000.00 American dollars). No, that's not Manchester United, it's Manchester City. This ended up being a deal and a half for Manchester City. In his first season he broke 24 records in just one season for the blues. One of the records he broke was scoring 36 goals in 33 games in just the EPL (English Premier League). He also had 52 goals in all competitions. He placed 2 in the race for the 2023 ballon d'or behind Lionel Messi. In his first season for Manchester City he won the treble (Three trophies in one season) he won a champions league a FA cup and a Premier league title. So far in the 2023-2024 season he has 13 goals and 3 assists in just 12 games just in the EPL. With Manchester City he is first in the EPL one point ahead of Liverpool. You may be wondering when Manchester City plays Liverpool well this week there's no soccer but next week at 7:30am it's Manchester City vs liverpool. From all this evidence it is easy to say at just 23 years old he is different.

The Orioles Historical Season          by Henry M. and Travis K.

The Orioles are a  MLB team that plays in Baltimore, MD. Over the past few years the Orioles have had some rocky seasons, so Peter Angelos, the O’s manager decided to “Rebuild” the team bringing in many minor league/farm team players including Adely Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson!!! The Orioles also kept some of their veteran players including Austin Hayes, Anthony Santander, Cederic Mullins and many more!!! The veterans of this team truly deserve making the ALDS this season after facing the highs and lows of the rebuild, one of which being multiple 90 loss seasons. This season they made the playoffs but lost in the ALDS (American League Division Semifinals) to the Rangers in a 3 game sweep between October 7-10. Some of the top players this season for the O’s were Ryan O’hearn, Adely Rutschman, and Austin Hayes. These players showed phenomenal skills throughout the season showing good hitting and fielding! The O’s had a historical season seeing as they finished the rebuild!

Chloe Kim          by Cara Eagles

Chloe kim is a champion snowboarder who is not a fan of the snow. She is for Southern  California, the land of beaches. Chloe started snowboarding with her dad when she was just four years old. They would drive five to six hours  just to go snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain. She got better than her dad and started competing  at age six. Then when Chloe was in third grade she moved to Switzerland to go live with her aunt. But she did not stop snowboarding she would wake up at 4 in the morning and would snowboard. In 2016, Chloe made history when competing in Utah. She did a back-to-back 1018s, that means she completed three full turns about 35 feet off the ground. She got a perfect score of 100. I think it is safe to say Chloe Kim the young snowboarder is a legend!

She lived in Dexter, Michigan. Now she plays for the Washington Spirit Team in DC. In January 2022 she became the youngest woman to get into AFC Ann Arbor of the pre-professional USL W league.

Trinity Rodman          by Kara Miehle

Trinity became the youngest player to record 10 career goals and 10 career assists in NWSL*National women's soccer league* history with her goal and assist against the San Diego Wave on Saturday May 6 2023. She passed Sam Kerr to achieve the accomplishment. Trinity’s father is NBA Hall of Fame forward Dennis Rodman and her brother DJ played college basketball for Washington State. She chose soccer to make her own name, but credits her dad for her die-hard mentality while competing. Trinity wrote a children’s book called “Wake Up and Kick It.” The book is based on her own story of kicking away doubts and fears to achieve her dreams of becoming a soccer player. Pre-wrap superstition. Trinity’s one superstition is she has to wear black pre-wrap for games. She says she wouldn’t walk out onto the field if there was another color.Trinity’s dream job growing up was not to be a soccer player, but a makeup artist! She thinks it’s funny because she doesn’t wear makeup often, but has posted a makeup tutorial on her YouTube channel.

Alex Morgan       by Sage Johnson

Alex Morgan is considered one of the best women's soccer players of all time. She plays a strong forward and is active for the “san diego wave fc team.” One of the strongest reasons that female soccer players choose number 13 for their jersey number is because of Alex Morgan's influence.“ Alex Morgan is more than just an ace on the soccer field — she's also the proud mom of her 3-year-old daughter, Charlie Carrasco. Morgan and her husband Servando Carrasco, a fellow professional soccer player, welcomed their first child on May 7, 2020.”She also has a husband named. “ Servando Carrasco.”

It’s completely safe to say that Alex Morgan is one of the best soccer players of all time/ aka G.O.A.T.

Aaron Judge      by Henry Majkrzak and Travis Kadi

Yankees fans loved Aaron Judge's 2022 season performance. He had 62 home runs in 570 at bats!!! He was a beast at the plate hitting a batting avg of .311!!! Another stat he excelled in was RBI(run batted in)’s, he had 75. He also excels in fielding, robbing multiple players of home runs last season. Despite his small size, he still has a cannon as an arm. He is also the single season homerun record holder. Judge hit his record-breaking 62nd home run on Tuesday at Globe Life Field, launching a 1-1 count slider from Rangers pitcher Jesus Tinoco. This was incredible and the home run ball sold for 1.5 MIllion U.S. dollars.
