How plastic could kill the Earth! By Mia Posted 3/14/2024
Plastic pollution is killing the earth
Plastic takes tons of years to decompose
More and More turtles are not able to birth
The Ocean gets dirtier and it shows
The oxygen is getting affected
There are many germs in the air killing folks
More and more chemicals are detected
People complain but really it's no joke
We just need to change plastic to cardboard
Cardboard helps the earth and makes cleaner air
Start using cardboard and you won’t be bored
Change to cardboard and make the Earth’s air fair
Always remember when you use plastic
You could kill the old folks, No sarcasm
Stand for Israel Editorial By: Ari klayman
Backstory
Israel is currently in a war with hamas. It all started on October 7 2023, which was also the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah (Sim-ha Tor-a). In 2005, Hamas took over Gaza, before in 1990 there were terrorist bombings.
Actions that you can take to support Israel
My family and I went to Washington D.C. to rally for Israel on November 14th. You might ask why am I doing this. Well, first I am Israeli, also some of my family is there.
This rally was crazy! When my mom signed up for the rally, the estimate was about 60,000 people showing support for Israel. When we went, there were already about 70,000 people at the start. They were talking about how this was the second bloodiest Jewish attack since the Holocaust. Then the “hoard” came in, at the end of the day there were about a quarter million people supporting Israel. They were holding signs, flags and even kidnapped posters. When we were leaving there were about 20 people who were pro-Hamas. They were supporting hamas because they don’t think that Israel shouldn’t be a country because the “Messiah” hasn't came yet (their savior)
The war
One connection I can make to the war is that my dad’s best friend and his group of men traveled up west. On Sat, Oct 7, 2023 Hamas launched their attack on Israel. Israel was not ready for this attack, and Hamas killed thousands of Jews. So far there have been over 1,500 innocent Jews killed.
To show support for Israel, wear a wristband or an armlet or anything on your wrist.
Are we really saying ‘ goodbye’ to our Giant Pandas? By Kenzi Serour
Apparently there will be no pandas in the U.S. for the first time in fifty years. China has been lending the bears to the U.S. zoos since 1972. This is China’s strategy for building good relations with other countries, also known as “panda diplomacy”. The national zoo in Washington D.C. was not able to renew their agreement with China. The 3 pandas, Tian Tian, Mei Xiang, and Qi Ji will head back to China on december 7, 2023. Other zoos have already returned their pandas because they were not able to renew their panda loan agreement with China. The only other zoo that has these adorable bears is in Atlanta, GA. The Atlanta Zoo pandas will be returned to China next year. According to the Washington Post, experts believe that the change in the panda diplomacy strategy is a way for China to show that they are not happy with their relations with the U.S. Did you know that Giant Pandas are the national animal of China? They live the wild for 15 years, but can live up to 38 years in captivity.

All About Sukkot by Ari Kayman Posted 10/2/23
The date of Sukkot 2023 is September 29-October 7. It all started in Egypt when the Jews escaped from Ramses ii. They roamed the desert for over 40 years. They slept in the sukkah (a temporary shelter from the elements). The Sukkah is built by four walls from fabric and a roof made from palm trees and planks. The roof also needs to have a little gap to see the stars to make sure God is watching over.
(picture of a Sukkah from google images)
One ritual that I did was eat under the sukkot. Every year we eat under the sukkot because the Jews did when they were roaming the desert. When we ate we were looking at the wonderful drawings in the Sukkah. We ate steak and lobster. We ate with my dad's best friend and their two kids. Today is October 3 and we have 4 days of Sukkot left.
